Wellbeing and the link to effectiveness Overview:
Staff wellbeing in large organisations is notoriously difficult to develop. It’s a complex issue in the true sense of the word, in that it comprises a set of dynamic, often irreducible factors around human experience which are difficult to pin down and describe in terms of organisational structures and processes.
Many organisations make the mistake of relying on simple solutions or processes and structures, which fail to address the fundamental issues of the complexity at hand. Wellbeing can be thought of not as a set of organisational procedures, nor even as a set of inter and intrapersonal factors, but rather as an interaction between them.
The organisation is responsible for setting of the terms of employment including such issues as workload, line management, staff support, etc, within a particular culture or ethos.
The individual will have an experience of those factors, emotions, and behaviours. During this session, we will describe the development of a psychologically informed strategic approach to wellbeing. Case studies will be used to illustrate these processes.
