Last week, Chilworth Partnership's Executive Search specialist Matt Whitton and Interim Management lead Chris Judd hosted their latest Roundtable at The Nici Hotel in Bournemouth.
Finance leaders and partners from organisations we have worked with were in attendance to discuss 'Sustainability in Business'.
An IEMA study of around 1,500 businesses 'found that nearly three-quarters are concerned about the impact of climate change over the next 10 years, with two-thirds saying that a global temperature rise of 2°C would have a “significant” impact on their business.'
Not only does the existence of UK businesses have a somewhat negative impact on the planet, but the rising threat of climate change will also have an adverse effect on a number of businesses in the future.
The roundtable focused on the obstacles that organisations face when it comes to being sustainable and how environmental downfall could impact operations, a hot topic being the role companies play in providing support with the use of electrical vehicles by its employees.
Another key takeaway was the rising consumer demand for services such as next day delivery, juxtaposing the call for sustainable business practices.
Chilworth Partnership and Venture Recruitment Partners have pursued sustainability measures through the planting of trees and working with Carbon Neutral Britain to become carbon negative, but our journey is also ongoing.
Thank you to all of our attendees for an inspirational evening of discussion surrounding a vital topic.
