On the 25th of April, Chilworth Partnership held its first Roundtable organised by Matt Whitton and Chris Judd who head up our Executive Search and Interim Management services.
The evening, hosted at Harbour Hotel Southampton, brought together local Finance and Accounting leaders in sectors such as biotech, banking, corporate finance, and PE.
Each attendee brought invaluable expertise to the conversation, with unique experiences from their teams and businesses, providing valuable insights into how UK businesses are responding to the current market.
Over a 2 course meal, the central theme of the evening was Private Equity and its response to a rapidly evolving and unstable economic climate.
3 Key Themes Arose:
1) Organisations that implemented a strong ESG initiative in the last 12-18 months have seen improved business growth.
2) There is renewed optimism around the availability of capital over the next 12-18 months and there is stiff competition between PE houses.
3) Private Equity houses are switching their focus to long-term investment and growth as opposed to short-term success.
Ongoing uncertainty in the UK financial market is undoubtedly affecting business strategy. As well as focusing on long-term growth, many businesses across the UK are investing their time into creating a sense of stability in-house. Choosing to look at Operational activity and risk management, rather than value discussion.
Due to high demand, we are pleased to announce that it is an event we will be organising more regularly. Each Roundtable will have a different theme to bring together a diverse range of opinions and experiences that allow us to reflect on the UK business market.
